Great events cast their shadows ahead. The next very important date in the calendar of sine qua non GmbH is INTERVITIS INTERFRUCTA HORTITECHNICA 2018.

As a wine and technology fair, Intervitis is of course an indispensable date for us. From 4th to 6th November we will be present in Stuttgart. There are some special aspects:

World premiere of YoY

With "YoY" we present a completely new way to get in touch with customers and tell them the story of one' s own product. YoY allows a look behind the scenes of the product, already at the point of sale. A bottle of wine can be turned into an interactive journey on a smartphone.

Behind the YoY logo, which is placed on wine bottles, for example, is an NFC chip that immediately opens all important information on the smartphone about the exact bottle of wine the customer is holding.

From the vineyard through the cellar to the supermarket, the customer can experience how his wine was made.

How many hours of sunshine did this bottle of wine in my hand have? When was the harvest? What decisions did the winegrower make? YoY makes every product an unicum - the customer recognizes the individuality of "his" bottle of wine.

This also gives companies important insights into the usage habits of their customers.

All this can already be implemented now - we look forward to showing you!

Partner network founded

At Intervitis 2018 we will be present for the first time with our partner network.

This enables us to cover the entire process chain from cultivation to marketing according to the motto of INTERVITIS. Starting with the most modern sensor solutions for the vineyard, provided by the experts from eVineyard together with Evvos, up to the digital wine consultant Frag Henry, innovative digitalization solutions can be offered on all levels.

The packaging designers at HS design also make an important contribution to ensuring that YoY can be perfectly integrated into the packaging of every product.

sine qua non at INTERVITIS INTERFRUCTA HORTITECHNICA: Meet us in Hall 10, Campus 4.0, booth 10C64.

Daily speeches on YoY in the forum "Drones and Robotics" - the times will be announced soon.

What should the digital transformation of a company look like? Where to start? These questions concern us and our customers every day.

With our product Ergonomixx we have introduced a solution that is adapted to the food and beverage industry and can answer these questions. With Ergonomixx, we have developed a three-point plan that every company can implement step by step. And this is what it looks like:

Digital Touchpoints

The first step on the path to becoming a digital company is the elimination of analog touchpoints. In a nutshell: Wherever previously important data was recorded on paper or in Excel lists, practical apps make it possible to feed the information directly into the ERP system.

These apps are digital touchpoints, and the basic component of Ergonomixx. Each app has only those functions that are needed at the specific point in the company. This means that the data can be entered by any employee in a very uncomplicated manner and in a matter of seconds. This does not only prevent errors: With digital touchpoints, the data in the ERP system is up-to-date at all times so that better decisions can be made in the company.

Internet of Things

In the next step, objects are also digitized, the Internet of Things comes into the picture. Everything that is measurable and relevant in the company is equipped with sensors. Fill levels, temperature, light incidence - whatever is important in production and processing is monitored and is available in the SAP system - in real time.

The data is then of course also available in the Digital Touchpoint Apps: Employees no longer even have to enter fill levels and similar information themselves; they only confirm the data provided by the sensors. The integration of information from third-party systems is also possible here. These are the ideal working conditions for today's information workers, who are also becoming increasingly dominant in industry. We call it the Augmented Workplace.

If the data are linked and the products individually marked, the history of each individual product can be tracked and traced.

Artificial Intelligence - Machine Learning

The third step of digitalization is really exciting. Now that a digital image of all processes is available, the Digital Process Twin, companies are integrating artificial intelligence into their systems. Algorithms can use collected data to create connections that humans can hardly recognize. The more data collected, the better the results. The algorithms are constantly improving themselves, so-called machine learning.

Thus, the app can give recommendations for action, predict the probability of certain events or warn of dangers.

Ergonomixx is SAP-Qualified Partner Packaged Solution

ERP systems from SAP serve as the basis for Ergonomixx. The new sine qua non concepts have already been reviewed and approved by SAP. The Ergonomixx Digital Touchpoints package is an "SAP-qualified Partner Packaged Solution".

Due to the multitude of modern technologies, Ergonomixx Digital Touchpoints is part of SAP Leonardo.

SAP Leonardo, named after the inventor and universal scholar Leonardo da Vinci, is SAP's new innovation platform and bundles everything related to the terms Internet of Things, Machine Learning, Analytics, Big Data, Design Thinking, Blockchain and Data Intelligence.

Read more about SAP Leonardo and the technologies behind it on the official website: Digital Innovation with SAP Leonardo

Another important date in the calendar of sine qua non GmbH has been set: We will be represented at INTERVITIS INTERFRUCTA HORTITECHNICA from November 4 to 6. Customers, partners, journalists and interested parties meet us at Campus 4.0 in Paul Horn Halle 10.

We will bring along extensive illustrative material, which makes the various application possibilities of Internet of Things solutions tangible. It is therefore always worth visiting our stand, we are looking forward to inspiring discussions.

Dr. Ralph Moog, CEO of sine qua non GmbH, will also appear as a speaker. "Digital tracking from cultivation to the end consumer - practical applications using the example of a digital food label" is the title of his presentation, in which sine qua non GmbH presents the development of its own food quality label, which relies on full transparency through the data from the ERP system.

We look forward to seeing you!

#LiveAt – the video is out!

Written by

Hard work pays off! Let's look back a few weeks: After 18 months of development, our comprehensive digitalization concept for the food and beverage industry saw the light of day in spring. A combination of IoT solutions, a bundle of user-friendly apps and innovative marketing tools covers the entire value chain and opens up completely new opportunities for companies.

All of this is perfectly linked to SAP Business ByDesign, the digital core of a company, implemented in just eight weeks.

Suddenly we stood with a camera team, two moderators and a prince next to the prototype of our measuring station in a vineyard on Lake Constance.

At least the prince did not surprise us so much, Michael Prinz von Baden as managing director of the Markgräflich Badischer Weinhaus was after all our customer. His Royal Highness is thus an absolute pioneer in the field of digitisation in the wine industry.

But we didn't necessarily expect SAP AG sending us a team from the USA to make the project known worldwide. Led by Ursula Ringham, presenter and Head of Influencer Marketing at SAP, we had three entertaining and exciting days of shooting, which of course could not do without wine tasting.

The time has come: #LiveAt Markgräflich Badisches Weinhaus" has been available on SAP Small Business's YouTube channel for a few days now.

Below you can watch the video - our ideas in action. The digital vineyard, perfectly connected.

Have fun!

The sine qua non team was in Munich this week to collect ideas. Together with some experts from the wine industry, we were guests at SAP Hybris, the experts for customer experience, and enjoyed a professionally moderated Design Thinking Workshop.

As Wikipedia knows, design thinking is "an approach that can lead to solving problems and developing new ideas". Developed at Stanford University, Design Thinking is now the starting point for successful business models around the world. Innovation arises when the factors of people, technology and business come together on an equal footing. Especially for digital business models, Design Thinking is a great mindset - after all, it's all about questioning the old-fashioned every day.

Accordingly, we were able to take some inspiration with us. A visit to the SAP Customer Experience Lab was the right start to an exciting day. Impressive prototypes such as the smart wine rack once again show how close the application of such concepts is in practice.

You can read this and more examples in the SAP Hybris blog: Smart Wine Shelf, Bulls Eye, Infinite Cart

Three things we learned at SAPPHIRE NOW

Written by

The suitcases are unpacked, the jetlag is over: We are back from Orlando, Frankfurt has us again. SAPPHIRE NOW was a huge experience that really helped us move forward. And hopefully we have also provided some interesting suggestions. Technically it was very exciting - but also the huge show with many stars is of course not to be sneezed at.

When we review the event, we take three things with us, our key learnings, so to speak, we don't want to keep them from you.

1. IoT is omnipresent

The Internet of Things, in all its fascinating forms, was one of the major topics of SAPPHIRE NOW. SAP increasingly presents itself as the "digital core", the heart of any company to which all digitization activities are connected. SAP leaves it to its many partners to use the opportunities creatively. The areas of application are becoming increasingly concrete, as many demonstrations and lectures in Orlando have shown. We also had the opportunity to show how the sensors, which can be used in vineyards, for example, deliver their data directly into the cloud-based SAP system. From there, the data can be played out in real time in our UI5 apps - and later also used for marketing purposes.

2. The end customer continues to take centre stage

SAP recognizes the increasing importance of end customer orientation for companies around the world. The interaction between ERP and CRM systems is becoming increasingly important to create the right conditions for this. SAP is responding with the introduction of C/4HANA, a bundle of software and services for the customer experience.

This development shows that companies need to keep the entire value chain in view. Information about the end customers and the use of the products is worth its weight in gold.

3 Never travel without FritzBox!

30,000 people at an exhibition centre - one could have guessed that the local internet would collapse in this rush.

But while Hasso Plattner had to give up the live demo on stage due to lack of internet, our Head of Development Yannik Moog - coincidentally - had his router with him. So at least nothing stood in the way of our live demo - and you can see it below. Perfect preparation!
